8 Dreampods, 4 States, over 7,000 miles

I’m sitting at my kitchen table writing this. I’m home for a bit and enjoying the down time. It’s been awhile since I’ve written about my travels and adventures setting up Dreampods. The reason being, I’ve been busy. Like swimming in 1,000’s and 1,000’s of pounds of salt busy. I’ve written about the popularity of floating growing across the globe but as of late I’ve been really feeling it. During the month of June alone I traveled over 7,000 miles to setup and install 8 pods in 4 different states. From the deserts of California to the shore’s of Lake Superior. Pretty sure there’s a Lee Greenwood song in there somewhere. The ceiling inside the Bismarck airport is painted to resemble clouds too, in case anyone was wondering.

First stop was Desert Serenity Float in Palm Springs California, which is now home to 2 Mini Dreampods. This was my first time actually setting up and installing the Mini. I’ll end the suspense for you and turns out they’re pretty damn close to our V2’s when it comes to installation. Good news for me. Something unique about this install however, was the fact they put both Mini’s inside the same room. This was another first. In the end it worked and I loved the idea of creating an environment catering to couples enjoying the awe of floating together in the same space but from the comfort of their own pods. Next up, like literally same day, was Float Bound in Canyon Lake California. I finished the Mini’s in the morning and started work in the afternoon on the next set of pods. Float Bound is an add on to an existing business, Baby Bound, which is an ultrasound spa. I’ve had one other install combining these 2 things and it’s one of my favorites. I love the idea of expectant mothers coming to a place of happiness and joy, checking out their unborn babies, and then being in the same place as a Dreampod. Floating and pregnancy go together like peanut butter and jelly. Trust me, I’ve given birth to a grand total of zero babies.

A smooth install and wonderful customers, thanks Diana and Rick, made my time in Canyon Lake peaceful and surprisingly relaxing. So if you’re prego and anywhere close by, be sure to stop in and float at Float Bound. I flew home on a Saturday, relaxed just a little on Sunday, and flew back out on Monday. The next installs were in North Dakota. Now take a moment and think about when you first heard of floating. Picture in your mind where you imagine float centers to be located. My guess is, the great plains of North Dakota is not the first stop on your imagination map. Well time to update the map because you can now float in Bismarck and Mandan North Dakota. Who’d a thunk!

The first was another Mini, which I had the wonderful opportunity to float in, but more on that later. It went in at the Salt Cave Wellness Relaxation Center in Bismarck. STOP READING!!! I mentioned salt caves in my last blog but if you missed it you must immediately go to Google and search out the closest salt cave. To make it easier on you, here’s a link to some Google images of salt caves to get you excited- https://www.google.com/search?q=salt+caves&safe=off&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS693US693&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjindWm6PXUAhUr5IMKHT4wBykQ_AUIBigB&biw=1536&bih=73

Now that you have an idea of what a salt cave is I hope you seek one out. They’re incredible. The fact I was installing a Dreampod in the same location as a salt cave made me very, very excited. Just like floating and pregnant woman, except more like peas and carrots this time, floating and salt caves are a perfect blend. I finished up the Mini in record time and even had time to float. I’ve only ever floated in the V2’s, so this was my first submersion in the Mini. As I expected, it was incredible. Noticeable difference from the V2? Not really, slight difference in the end. I had a comfortable float that helped and aided in my body recovering from the over abundance of flying as of late.

I was soon off to set up the second pod in Mandan, which is just outside the capitol of North Dakota. Dakota Dream Waters, great name, was set up inside an existing Medical Spa. I’ve seen this more and more in my travels. People adding floating to an already successful business. I take it as a great sign that floating will continue to reach more and more people.

Fast forward a week later and I was in Kennewick, Washington at Float Euphoria. Two pods, beautiful center, and cupping therapy to boot. Ryan and Bethany did a wonderful job of designing the ideal float/massage center. The last few hours before taking off I was treated to some cupping. Something else for you to Google. It was absolutely fantastic. I had never had the pleasure of experiencing it before and I hope to again soon. My back felt better almost immediately afterwards. Once again, floating blending beautifully with natural ways of healing the body.

The last pod for the month was in Duluth, Minnesota. Inner Bliss Spiritual Health Center will feature a variety of healing modalities; including floating, yoga, meditation and massage. A one tank setup almost always goes smoothly for me and Inner Bliss didn’t disappoint. This left me some quiet peaceful time to walk along the shore of Lake Superior. The weather was cool and comfortable. The food was delicious and the people were kind. I laid my head down each night I was there and counted myself lucky. I had a stress filled month full of hectic airports and connecting flights. Long hours of travel and sometimes even longer hours on installs. But as my month drew to an end I was thankful for all I had accomplished and all the experiences I was treated to in such a short amount of time.

I’m going to keep working so you can keep floating out there, wherever you are. But do me a favor. Find time, whether it’s in a tank or not, and reflect on your day. Reflect on your week or your month and be thankful for all you accomplish. In the end it’s worth it. You can find links to all the centers mentioned below. If you’re ever in the area of any of them be sure to stop in, say hello, and tell them Craig sent you.
